Hillary Hanging On

I don’t hate Hillary Clinton.  I don’t.  I assure you.  In fact, I think she is an incredibly intelligent person whom I respect and find very interesting.  So, okay, I’ve got that out of the way.  Having said that; what in the name of ever-loving God is she doing?  I have been listening to her campaign people out on the stump and on the news stations giving the ol’ runaround about “seating the delegates from Florida and Michigan” and Hillary “actually having the most popular votes when you count all the disenfranchised voters” in those states.

It is time to give it up people.   Seriously, Hil (she and I are tight like that), give it up.  I’m sorry that your time is up, okay, I am really sorry….but…it’s time.  Were you screwed by the fiasco in FL and MI?  Yes, you were.  Were the voters screwed?  Yes, they were.  But guess what?  SO WAS EVERY OTHER CANDIDATE IN THE RACE!!!!!! If there is someone to get mad at, it’s the politicians in each of those states who made the decision to go against the party rules, so take them out back and shoot’em.  But please, for the love of all that is holy, stop pretending like Obama has masterminded this labyrinthine conspiracy to deprive these states of a vote.

Honestly, what are you asking for?  Really I want to hear it, without all the political-speak; just tell us what you think would be fair.  Do you want to seat the delegates as they stand, despite the fact that Obama wasn’t even on the ballot in Michigan?  I mean, literally, your name (Hillary Clinton) was the only major candidate on the ballot…period.  So… how do we count that Hil?  Clearly, the results as they stand don’t reflect anything at all beyond chaos.

So what are some other choices?  Oh, I know!  A re-vote!  That sounds like  reasonable idea, except for two things:  First, too expensive, who will pay for it; and secondly, voter psychology will sway the re-vote in your favor.  Because of your insistence on playing the “disenfranchised” card, Michigan and Florida voters will have it in their minds that Obama is the guy who doesn’t like them and you are the candidate who fought for them.  This will be reflected in a re-vote, in which you would win in a very disproportionate manner; even more so than you may have won in a fair election.  To have the outcome of the Democratic race decided by such a twisted mess would be catastrophic.

The other, and only fair choice, is to divide those states’ delegates in a manner which reflects your win, but does not overturn the results of the race thus far.  This way the states have some delegates seated, they get to be a win in the Hillary column, and all this without throwing the process into turmoil.

Seriously though Hil, you are really creeping me out by continuing to insist on something that has no basis in logic or good conscience.  Get over it.  It’s done.  The only way you can win is by some kind of underhanded dealing.  Really, think about it.  For you to win, you are counting on one (or all) of three things:

1)  Fully legitimizing elections in two states that were nefarious to begin with and turned out to be a sham.

2)  Party superdelegates literally overturning the will of the people, or

3)  Fighting this thing tooth and nail at the convention, thereby splintering the party, causing bitterness, and getting Mccain elected

So, I guess my question to you, Hillary, is this:  HOW IS THIS NOT CREEPY?
